Strategic Purpose Statement |
This qualification is intended for people working in or new to the swimming pool building industry.
It recognises the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare, and carry out swimming pool building that are fit-for-purpose, durable, and aligned with environmental and legislative requirements. The elective strands in above-ground swimming pool, concrete swimming pool, fibreglass swimming pool, and precast swimming pool recognise specialised skills required in some settings of the swimming pool building industry Graduates will be able to work unsupervised to the required technical, safety, quality and productivity standards expected of a competent swimming pool builder. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of swimming pool building to interpret specifications and co-ordinate materials and equipment. - Plan and communicate to carryout swimming pool building in accordance with sustainable practices, safety, quality and legislative requirements. - Prepare sites for swimming pool building. - Apply construction practices to design and install water recirculation systems in swimming pool and spas. Graduates of the Above-ground Swimming Pools strand will also be able to: - Apply specialist skills to prepare sites and install subsoil drainage systems and above-ground swimming pools on site. Graduates of the Concrete Swimming Pools strand will also be able to: - Apply specialist skills to prepare sites, install subsoil drainage systems, and build concrete swimming pools on site. Graduates of the Fibre-glass Swimming Pools strand will also be able to: - Apply specialist skills to install subsoil drainage systems and install prefabricated fibreglass swimming pools on site. Graduates of the Pre-cast Swimming Pools strand will also be able to: - Apply specialist skills to set out, install, and commission pre-cast swimming pools on site. |
