Strategic Purpose Statement |
The MMgmt programme aims to empower ākonga from a range of academic and professional backgrounds-including, but not limited to, social sciences, information technology, health, business, commerce, and construction-to develop advanced management capabilities that are required to succeed in today's digital and global business environments. Through a strong integration of applied knowledge and practical skills, the programme builds on prior experience and fosters innovative thinking and agile management practices. Ākonga will develop in-depth knowledge of contemporary management trends and the skills that enable them to respond effectively to the evolving demands of dynamic, fast-paced organisational settings.
The programme is designed to prepare graduates for leadership and management roles in national and international contexts. It also addresses emerging global business challenges such as digital transformation, cross-cultural collaboration, and sustainability, equipping ākonga to lead future-focused and socially responsible business practices. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of the Master of Management programme will be able to:
- Critique advanced knowledge and skills and apply these in a business and management context to achieve organisational goals. - Analyse local and global challenges when working with national and multinational organisations and elaborate on the application of well-thought-through solutions. - Critically evaluate business and management theories and practices to inform strategic decision-making in diverse organisational contexts. - Using appropriate tools, technologies, and formats, confidently communicate complex management ideas clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences, - Evaluate legal and ethical considerations that will impact any risk identification from an organisation's perspective |

Education pathways |
Graduates of this programme may be eligible to enrol in higher-level programmes offered across the sector, such as:
- Doctoral level study in Business or Management, or other related fields. Ākonga will be advised that they may need to complete additional research or courses to gain entry to a doctoral programme, with any decision on progression and admission being subject to the requirements of the receiving institution. |

Entry Requirements |
5.1 Admission
All applicants will be approved for admission by the Faculty Lead or their delegate. Applicants must fulfil the following requirements for academic admission. 5.1.1 Academic Admission category To be considered for general admission onto the programme, applicants must: * Have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor Honours Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline, such as social sciences, IT disciplines, health sector, business sector, commerce, health, construction or another related discipline. * International ākonga who have successfully completed a bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university (or similar) and wish to undertake further study with a view to employment in a management position within Aotearoa |New Zealand. Ākonga who do not meet the above criteria but have industry experience and wish to further develop their knowledge, skills and application may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Faculty Lead. Entry will be dependent on an assessment of the applicant's level of achievement in their undergraduate programme or other prior study and/or experimental work-related learning, their potential for success on the programme, and/or their industry experience and portfolio. Applicants for whom English is a second language * must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall, with no individual band below 6.0. All English language test results must be dated within two years before the programme start date. * Ākonga who have completed at least five years of full-time study in an approved English-medium secondary or tertiary qualification in certain countries (e.g., USA, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand) may be exempt from submitting an English language test score. Their qualification must be approved by NZQA or meet their criteria for English-medium instruction. When required, the Faculty Lead or their delegate may interview applicants to determine their eligibility for admission. |
