Strategic Purpose Statement |
Graduates of the Postgraduate Certificate of Creative Arts will be able to: A. Knowledge and understanding Evaluate research methods to determine their potential application to a creative research project (Matauranga) B. Values and Attitudes Be intellectually curious and adaptable, willing to embrace new ideas and accommodate risk and uncertainty (Toi) C. Skills (Cognitive and Intellectual) Apply exploratory thinking to generate creative research proposals (Toi) D. Skills (Subject Specific/ Professional) Utilise analytical, evaluative and synthesising iterative processes in order to transform ideas into material outcomes (Mohio) E. Skills (Transferable) * Demonstrate effective visual, oral, sonic and written communication skills (Whanaungatanga) * Interact effectively, ethically and professionally with others (Whanaungatanga) * Think and work independently, making autonomous decisions, managing workload and deadlines (Mana) * Source and astutely utilise information in a variety of forms and contexts (Matauranga) A candidate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Creative Arts could apply for credit towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Design, Fine Arts or M?ori Visual Arts, or a relevant Masters programme. Graduates may, depending on their specialty, find work in a wide range of creative industry, non-governmental and public sector roles. Many creative arts graduates operate their own businesses.

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
