Strategic Purpose Statement
The specific aims of these programmes are: 1. To provide programmes with specialist discipline areas that will promote and enhance the knowledge base, skills, and professionalism of information technology students. 2. To produce dedicated, professional practitioners who hold a qualification which is highly regarded by employers. 3. To prepare students for life-long learning, with the desire to constantly update their knowledge and skills within a changing work environment. 4. To stimulate students to develop an inquiring and analytical approach to problems and issues, and to encourage independent judgment and creative thinking. 5. To promote a wider understanding and appreciation of information technology. Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology who complete the networking strand will analyse information systems including feasibility for installation, use project management software to manage information systems, develop information systems and configure and trouble shoot information networks. Graduates will also manage internet sites and associated software. Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology majoring in web development will develop, implement and manage web applications for organisations and businesses.
Entry Requirements
Application and selection criteria for the Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Information Technology are as follows: Application by Academic Qualification Entry is open to degree graduates who have graduated successfully from a relevant Bachelor Degree.

Credits
