On Successful completion of the qualification, graduate will be able to

Show mastery of visual art and design knowledge , skills, and the professional issues necessary to begin practice in creative technologies
Compile, explain, synthesise, and critique information from a rang of current and relevant industry and academic sources
Design appropriate solutions using production approaches that integrate ethical, social, legal and economic concerns
Formulate, test, and modify creative technologies problem solving methods using standard and non-standard techniques and applicable theories, ideas , principles concepts and investigatory research methods
Generate, design, produce, justify and defend decisions made during the execution of productions and projects
Investigate, critique, and judge the worth of emerging technologies and processes that influence creative technologies and game development practices
Learn new models, techniques and technologies as they emerge and appreciate the necessity of such continuing professional development.
Plan, prepare, manage, organise, compose and revise productions using an effective project management strategy while demonstrating effective communication, collaboration and negotiation skills and
Reconcile conflicting project objectives, finding acceptable compromises within limitations of cost, time, knowledge, existing systems and organisations.

Entry Requirements
A minimum of 42 NCEA credits at Level 3 with at least 2 subjects scoring a minimum of 14 credits over a maximum of 4 subjects. A minimum of 12 NCEA credits must also be achieved at Level 2 English and 14 NCEA credits at Level 1 mathematics. Candidates should also have a minimum of 24 credits at level 3 NCEA Art, Design or technology subjects, or
Equivalent qualification of above for an example Cambridge International Examinations, or
Have successfully completed a Media Design School Qualification, Level 5 or higher or
Have successfully completed a qualification from another discipline, Level 4 or higher or
Discretionary entrance, where the applicant has significant art and design skills and experience.
