Strategic Purpose Statement
The qualification is intended for people who seek to develop a broad range of skills required to support and participate in mahi toi within marae communities.
The qualification meets the need of whānau, hapū, iwi, communities and other entities wanting to grow capacity, capability and knowledge of mahi toi within their marae communities.
Graduates will be able to apply a broad range of mahi toi skills to support their whānau, hapū, iwi and marae communities. They will also improve their knowledge, understanding and skills of mahi toi and how to participate in the development of toi in marae communities.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Develop a range of communication skills relevant to mahi toi within marae communities
- Participate in broad operational and theoretical knowledge and skills associated with mahi toi within marae communities through applying solutions in familiar and sometimes unfamiliar situations.
- Reflect on and evaluate own practice of mahi toi within marae communities.
- Use a broad range of reo structures and tikanga concepts and practices to enhance mana reo.
