Zero fee teaching IQAs

On 14 September 2022 the Government announced that teachers who meet eligibility criteria can apply to have their overseas teaching qualifications evaluated by NZQA free of charge.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible you must:
- be a New Zealand trained teacher with overseas qualifications requiring evaluation for salary assessment purposes
Or
- provide evidence of an overseas teaching registration or equivalent,
- be able to meet the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand’s language competency requirements, and
- hold a relevant undergraduate (or higher) teaching qualification.
How to apply
To apply for a zero fee teaching IQA you will need to submit an application through our online web portal.
To do this you will need to:
- create an account
- provide information and evidence of your eligibility
- provide information and evidence of your teaching qualification(s) that you want evaluated.
