People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of, the features, habitat, and geographical locations of oyster species found in New Zealand; the anatomical features of an oyster; the feeding, reproduction and life cycle of the oyster species; the factors that impact on the growth of the oyster species and abnormal features and/or behaviours that could indicate potential oyster health issues.
