This unit standard is for people who require a knowledge of the abalone in a seafood industry context. People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of, the features, habitat, and geographical locations of New Zealand abalone species; the anatomical features of an abalone; the feeding, reproduction and life cycle of an abalone; the factors that impact on the growth of an abalone; and abnormal features and/or behaviours that could indicate potential abalone health issues.
