People credited with this unit standard are able, in a health or wellbeing setting, to:
. identify the causes and transmission methods of infection;
. demonstrate knowledge of exposure and signs of infectious conditions that may require absence from work;
. demonstrate knowledge of infection control principles and infection control precautions; and
. identify the requirements for reporting and recording risks of infection.
