This unit standard is for people working in a commercial seafood operation.
People credited with this unit standard are able to describe: the processes used for commercial bottom long line fishing; and the construction and care of bottom long line fishing gear. They are also able to participate in the setting, hauling, catch retrieval, inspection and repair of a bottom long line, on a commercial fishing vessel.
