How the UK recognises NCEA

UK ENIC – the UK National Information Centre for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications recognises NCEA.

It compares NCEA Level 2 to the:

  • General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) (grades A*–C/9-4)
  • Scottish National 5 (grades A-C)
  • Intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate.

It compares NCEA Level 3 with:

  • University Entrance to the GCE Advanced (A) Level
  • Scottish Advanced Higher
  • Scottish Baccalaureate
  • Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate.
