MQS is responsible for the maintenance, development and review of mātauranga Māori qualifications and Field Māori unit standards. We ensure that the qualifications and unit standards are fit for purpose, and meet the needs and aspirations of whānau, hapū and iwi.

MQS is guided by Te Whakaruruhau Matua and Whakaruruhau to maintain the integrity and validity of Māori qualifications and Field Māori assessment standards.
