NCEA rules and procedures
The Assessment and Examination Rules and Procedures are administrative requirements for secondary schools and for tertiary providers delivering achievement standards for students. There are also Rules and Procedures that relate to home-schooled students.
NZQA will publish operational rules and provisions that supplement these Rules and Procedures at appropriate times. The operational rules and provisions will be reproduced either on NCEA Rules and Procedures web pages, in supplementary written material, or in sets of instructions to candidates.
The principles of fairness, validity and transparency of assessment practice for all students are fundamental to the administration of qualifications, and underpin these Rules and Procedures.
For the Rules and Procedures, see:
- Assessment (including Examination) Rules for Schools with Consent to Assess
- (The Rules which applied to previous years are available if you need to refer to them.)
