Strategic Purpose Statement |
The programme has been designed for experienced health and social professionals to support
the development of enhanced practice and leadership to better meet the health needs of populations in Aotearoa New Zealand. The graduate will have advanced knowledge and skills within their specialty area of practice. The programme aims to ensure that health and social practice professionals can contribute to meeting the demand for services that integrate cultural practices, concepts and diverse world views into high-quality, evidence informed health services. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of the qualification will have:
1. Advanced knowledge and critical understanding of contemporary practice and service delivery issues and strategic policy priorities as they relate to people's health and well-being. 2. The ability to review and judiciously utilise research to advocate for best practice innovation which challenges poor population health outcomes. 3. The ability to recognise gaps in practice knowledge and to seek solutions to complex and unpredictable health issues within policy, funding and service delivery parameters. 4. Leadership and management skills that are able to be applied in operational and local contexts. 5. A sophisticated knowledge of the way power relations can operate to marginalise minority perspectives and to become an informed advocate for equitable access to culturally appropriate and ethical health care for populations. |

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent
· International or EAL: IELTS 6.5 in every band, · Registered Nurse, Registered Paramedic or associated with a relevant professional body, · Currently practising in the specialty area. |

The NZQF has ten levels. Level one is least complex and is often entry-level, for example foundation certificates. Levels eight to ten are the most complex, and include post-graduate study.

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
