Landing managers are responsible for all personnel on a landing and any persons entering the worksite. Those responsible for managing landing operations are usually site managers, log makers, or loader operators. People credited with this unit standard are able to: plan a work-flow pattern for the landing; establish a log making work station; assign tasks, train, supervise and manage the landing workforce; manage the log making and processing on the landing; set up and manage quality control systems and procedures; establish and manage environmental standards and procedures; and interpret and record Log Value Recovery (LVR) performance for log making and processing activities on a landing.
